Power

The site has about 3 MW today. Anything more goes through Sygnir, the local grid company.

Nearest grid point
Sitjande substation, 2.3 km south, beside Statnett's Aurland 1 station.
Local 66 kV network
35 MVA capacity. The local peak is about 12 MW, in the summer tourist season.
Already planned
16 MW of shore power for cruise ships in Flåm from 2027, on the same network.
Main grid
Statnett is rebuilding Aurland 1 for 420 kV, due 2027–28. It has no transformer down to the local network, but space is reserved. Sygnir, Linja and the municipality have asked for one; a 420/66 kV transformer typically costs NOK 60–100m (≈€6–9m).
Demand outlook
Sygnir expects about 50 MW in the area within ten years, data centres included.
Paths to more power, rough estimates

10–20 MWA ≈2.5–3 km cable from Sitjande and more transformer capacity, if the 66 kV network has room≈€3–5m2–3 years
20 MW +A 420/66 kV transformer at Aurland 1, likely shared with other new load+≈€6–9m3–5 years

Flåm's 16 MW comes first on the same 35 MVA network, so even 10–20 MW may need the Aurland 1 transformer. Only Sygnir can confirm.

Fibre

More speed on an existing line is usually a service change that takes weeks. A second, separate route is the bigger job.

Likely nearest node
Låvi, 3.9 km west, 5.6 km by road.
Second node
The Aurland exchange in Aurlandsvangen, 8.1 km, 9.6 km by road.
Route
Fibre normally follows the road, so the road distance sets the cost.

To Aurlandsvangen≈9.6 km≈€0.35–0.8m3–9 months

Costs and times are rough estimates from public benchmarks (Statnett, Nkom), not quotes. Grid and fibre pins are approximate. Distances are straight lines unless marked as road.
